What is your business philosophy? It's a very special thing to be able to capture the moments and excitement from one of the most memorable days in a person's life. I credit my success as a photographer to not only choosing a career that I truly love but also understanding the significance of each client's wedding day. I believe my passion for photography and LIFE comes through in the images I create and the relationships I develop with my clients.
What sets you apart? Starting my photography career at such a young age is something that makes me unique from other photographers on the Outer Banks. My photography career started with my exhibits in Italy when I was just 21. Directly following college I took my first "official" job as a photographer, and the following year at only 23 years old I started GingerSnaps Photography.
From start to finish photography has been and always will be a passion of mine. It came naturally and defines who I am as a person. I'm so grateful that I have been able to make it my career.
Now at the age of 26, my young, energetic personality is a HUGE asset to my business. I have a fresh perspective on capturing the personality of my clients, and the energy I am able to dedicate to each client and my work shows.
How long and where? This is my 5th year shooing weddings and family portraits on the Outer Banks. Prior to starting GingerSnaps, I studied photography in Florence, Italy at The Studio Art Centers International and received my degree from UNC Chapel Hill (GO HEELS!)
Best advice you have? I think everyone agrees...get to know your vendors! It's important to book with vendors who you are confident in and who will enhance your wedding experience both while you are planning and on your wedding day! As a photographer, I spend as much time with the bride and groom as even their closest family members; you want to find vendors you really "click" with and who you're excited to have take part in your wedding celebration!
What is your favorite part of the job? Ever so often I will tear up at one of my weddings. Sharing in my client's happiness and feeling that connection to such a special moment in a person's life is incredible!
What is your favorite place? Ooo.that's a tough one.
More than location, I would have to say I love sitting in the sand during what I call "The Blue Light" It's a bit before sunrise, no one else is on the beach, the sand is cool and little damp, the entire atmosphere has a stillness except for the waves and Everything is BLUE. It is the most peaceful time of day for me.
What are your favorite hobbies? I love spending time with family and friends. My family is very close, and I think that wanting to preserve the memories I have with my family is part of the reason I became a photographer. And Cooking!
What is your favorite meal? Every year for my B-Day my mom makes a Lamb Roast with Mashed Potatoes & Gravy, Asparagus & her Salad.
