Last Wednesday, October 29th, obxBrides.com unveiled it’s new look. And in order to celebrate our new site, we had a launch party! It was a lot of fun, and a bunch of our vendors join us for an afternoon of wedding themed fun! Check out the video courtesy of Rev. Jay Bowman.

As you can see, we had a heck of a party and all of our wedding vendors had a blast! There were quite a few of our Wedding Pro’s there, including Good Life Gourmet, Ocean Boulevard, Distinctive Rentals, The Sanderling, Mary Basnight, Julie Dreelin, Kristi Midgette, Sugar Snap, DJ Professionals, Soundwavz, and more. Even the NC Aquarium coordinator was there! And it was all hosted by Allie and Mike Hawkins of Island Photography.

Rev. Jay started the meeting by going over the progress obxBrides.com has made online since its inception.  Our mission is to be the number one source of information and help for brides-to-be on the Outer Banks, and based on our Google rankings we’re doing a great job of it. For 12 different keywords, we’re now on the first page!

For “Outer Banks Weddings” we went from #65 to #6!

After the explanation about the new site and our increasing online popularity, Allie Hawkins explained the Brides Stories features and how brides can now submit their own stories.  If you haven’t seen it, take a look.

Once all the website presentations were over, it was time to have some fun. Everyone drew cards to see who’d smack the big wedding cake piñata. The piñata had poker chips in it, and the people who got a poker chip were able to toss a pumpkin off the balcony. The goal was to hit the target, and Rob from Metro Rental was the ultimate winner.

Everybody had a lot of fun, ate a lot, and were excited about the new site!
