The Outer Banks Wedding Show is just over a month away and people are getting excited! All of the obxBrides.com vendors will be there and it’s sure to be the best wedding show the Outer Banks has ever seen. Not only will everyone be setting up booths to show off their services, but there will also be a series of informative seminars to help all of the brides to be!
The events start at 11 AM and run all day. These seminars will offer brides and their parties a variety of useful info to help make their weddings perfect. Full of tips and tricks from some of the best wedding vendors on the Outer Banks, these seminars are a great way to get an edge on your wedding.
The Schedule:
- Keeping Green On The Beach: 11-1:20am – Join, Kirsten, the only “All Green” Wedding Photographer on the Outer Banks for a fun, informative talk about making the transition to an “all green” business, her passion for the environment and creative ways you can stay eco-conscious while planning your beach wedding. There are countless ways to make the environment and its animals a priority while celebrating your big day with the ones you love the most. From bamboo disk ware to donations to the Corolla Wild Horse Fund and DIY projects to local vendors, Kirsten will share her ideas on how to plan the best “a;l green” wedding.
- Do-It-Yourself Flower Arrangements: 11:30-11:50am – Do you ever wonder how they make those bouquets so round and perfect? Come and see, as Dorothy shows you just how enjoyable and rewarding a DIY session at her studio in Kitty Hawk can be. Over the years, brides and wedding parties have enjoyed their time together, while truly taking part in helping create the look of the big day. Learn how to make your own flower arrangements.
- The 1st Bite is Taken With Your Eyes 12-12:20pm – Join Chef Wes for a live cooking demonstration of his delicious Shrimp ‘n Grits. Learn about Redneck Risotto and how to tie Southern cooking into a station-style presentation for your reception.

Join her for a helpful discussion on ways to best use the home you’ve rented for your celebration, how to avoid problems and how to make sure you are the bride and NOT the logistics manager. An informative take-away checklist will be provided.
- Rentals: (Almost Always) Last, But Certainly Not Least 1-1:20pm – This informative session will share what to think about when planning a beach wedding and reception and suggest the in’s and out’s of making the most of your rental budget (or lack thereof).

Having the best photos just takes a little planning!
- Defining Your Signature Cocktail 2:30-2:50pm – Have you been considering having a signature drink at your reception? Debra will offer ideas on how to choose your Signature Cocktail (and using the proper glassware).
