The Sanderling Resort and Spa located in Duck, NC on the Atlantic Ocean and Currituck Sound is the only full service resort in the Outer Banks. Our experienced wedding coordinators and recommended vendors will assist with every aspect of your destination wedding.
The Resort sits on a beautiful stretch of beach perfect for beach ceremonies.
A Bit More About The Sanderling Resort & Spa
The Soundside Pavilion
The new climate controlled open Pavilion structure is located on the Sound offering stunning sunset views. The facility will hold up to 200 people. A private dock and gazebo are available for your guests to enjoy the natural setting.
The Upper Deck
Located on the second floor of the historic Lifesaving Station, the Upper Deck offers views of the Currituck Sound. This site is ideal for hosting a reception, bridal luncheon or rehearsal dinner for up to 50 guests.
Swan-Heron Room and Deck
Located on the Oceanside of the Resort, the Swan-Heron Room offers indoor seating for up to 100 people for receptions with deck space that can increase the capacity to 200. The adjacent lawn area is also available for tenting.
The Beach
From sunrise to sunset, the Outer Banks is known for its beautiful sandy beaches offering a lovely backdrop for a wedding of two to 200. A Sanderling Ceremony includes chairs and coordination.
The Main Inn Deck
Located directly behind the Main Inn, this outdoor location can accommodate up to 150 guests. The natural beauty of this Oceanside deck and gazebo make it a perfect setting.
The Lawn
The Lawn is nestled amongst the natural dune line on the Ocean side. This site can easily accommodate 225 guests.
The Left Bank Restaurant
The Left Bank has hosted AAA’s Four Diamond status since its inception.
The Sanderling’s AAA Four Diamond Award winning restaurant is on the Sound side of The Resort, overlooking the tranquil waters of the Currituck Sound. The Left Bank offers spectacular panoramic views and directly faces the best sunsets the eastern seaboard has to offer.

From our initial visit to Sanderling to discuss our wedding to the moment after our wedding when we bid good-bye, our experience was flawless; it was truly our pleasure to share this momentous ocassion with Sanderling personnel. The cool beach temperature for our Saturday wedding ceremony was hardly noticeable, at least by the bride and groom, because all aspects of our once in a life-time experience was so expertly carried out.
