ARTZ MUSIC & PHOTOGRAPHY is a convenient and affordable husband-wife team providing wedding ceremony violin music, reception DJ service, and full photography packages aimed at today’s budget bride who wants the best for less.
Sue Artz is a bride’s best friend and “guidance counselor” in the months and weeks leading up to your big day. Matt documents your wedding as an experienced photojournalist, candid and stress-free. Sue and Matt will meet you and work out the entire timeline to avoid any possible miscommunication or “bad timing” between the DJ and your photographer, ensuring the best possible photos!

How long have you been in business, and where?

Sue and Matt Artz have both been working professionally in their respective fields on the Outer Banks since 2000. Sue Artz is a classically trained concert violinist with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Music Performance.
Sue has been performing on stage since age six and has played both Carnegie Hall and CBGB’s. Matt Artz spent a decade as a reporter and photographer for the Outer Banks’ only locally owned and operated newspaper, prior to and following the launch of his freelance photography business in 2005.

Best advice for an Outer Banks wedding?

Your Wedding Day is a once-in-a-lifetime event, so don’t be afraid to step out of the box. Some of the most intimate and personal weddings we’ve seen have had the smallest budgets.
Thoughtful, personalized details are priceless expressions of who you are, and “traditional” does not have to mean a cookie-cutter wedding. (In lieu of cake, we actually sliced a “wedding pizza” with heart-shaped pepperonis at our own wedding reception!)
