Wedding Gift Bags for an Outer Banks Beach Wedding
Beach Wedding Gift Bags on the Outer Banks
In the past it was not uncommon to provide wedding gift bags to out of town guests. However, if you are having a destination, or beach wedding, most likely all of your guests will be out of town guests. So if you are planning to provide wedding gift bags to your guests, it does not need to turn into another big wedding expense.
Here are a few, inexpensive ideas.
First, for the bag itself, consider using paper gift bags. They are available in an array of colors and you can match them to the colors of your bridesmaids’ dresses. You could have them imprinted with your names and the date, or if you have nice handwriting, personalize them yourself.
What you put into the bag doesn’t need to be expensive either. These items are all free and most can be easily obtained from the Outer Banks Visitors Center:
- Local map of the area
- Coupons/menus for local restaurants
- Pamphlets on nearby activities
- Contact numbers for the wedding party and/or parents
Other popular items for beach wedding gift bags that won’t break the bank:
- Sewing kit (can usually find these at a dollar store)
- Small bottles of water (you can get the labels on these personalized too!)
- Pad of paper with a pen
- Candy, such as mints or gum
- Stain remover pads or pen
In keeping with your beach theme, you might want to include small packs of sunscreen, suntan lotion or maybe even a pair of flip-flops! Of course, you could also throw in a few seashells – just because you can!

Thanks for such a nice suggestion. I followed your suggestion in my wedding also and the guests enjoyed a lot over there and they really appreciated the theme of giving gifts on the wedding.
Hey Nick, glad you took our suggestion. Your site looks really sharp, hope it’s doing well for you. You should really add an “outer Banks beach wedding” feature in there
Thanks for stopping by the blog.
