Planning a Destination Wedding on the Outer Banks!

Dreams Can Come True!

Beach weddingMany dreams of the perfect wedding include a romantic ceremony with a sun, sand and ocean background accompanied by the gentle sound of the surf. However, unless you live at the ocean, it may require a little work to achieve that dream. Notice I said it requires a little work. It is not difficult to plan your destination wedding. You simply need to do your homework and make plans well in advance.

Several things you will want to consider when planning your destination wedding are:

  • Save the Date – For many of your guests, they may plan to use this time for your wedding and their annual vacation. Give them six to eight months advance notice so they can make their family plans.
  • Hotel/Motel – Call around to various local hotels and motels and try to negotiate lower rates for your guests. They will appreciate the effort and the savings.
  • No Tears, Please – When planning your destination wedding, don’t be upset if some of your close friends and family are unable to attend. Not everyone can afford a trip like that for a wedding. Even with a hotel discount, the costs can really add up fast, especially for a family.
  • License – Be sure to call and find out the procedure for obtaining a marriage license. While some states have a three-day waiting period, many do not.

These are just a few items you may not have thought about when considering your destination wedding. Outer Banks weddings can be your dream come true. And remember, for all of the best Outer Banks weddings information, check out the rest of obxBrides.com.
